Attendance and Instructional Recovery
Attendance and Instructional Recovery

Valdez Educational Services offers a comprehensive Attendance and Instructional Recovery (AIR) program that supports student achievement while addressing chronic absenteeism. The program is implemented on the school campus and provides targeted, skills-based instruction that helps students strengthen foundational academic skills while recovering missed learning opportunities.
In addition to reinforcing core academic skills, the AIR program helps students catch up on missed assignments and instructional content, encourages improved attendance, and builds academic confidence leading to long-term success.
Program Components
- Face-to-face small-group tutoring
- Online tutoring
- Non-cognitive skills workshops that promote motivation, resilience, and student engagement
- Academic games that reinforce learning in an interactive environment
Family and School Partnership
Building strong relationships with students, families, teachers, and administrators is fundamental to successfully implementing the AIR program. Valdez Educational Services works collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure students receive the support they need.
Key partnership activities include:

- Direct communication with parents through phone calls to explain the program, answer questions, and encourage family engagement
- Individual follow-up visits during the week after students begin participating in the AIR program to reinforce foundational skills, monitor progress, and strengthen relationships with students and their families
Flexible Program Design
The Attendance and Instructional Recovery (AIR) program is flexible and can be customized to meet each school’s unique goals and scheduling needs while addressing students’ individual needs.
